About the Artist
"I am a wife, mother, theologian, and artist." Dr. Lindsay Siemers
Dr. Lindsay Siemers hails from the Pacific Northwest, but currently resides
in the small old town of Smithfield, VA. Lindsay taught herself to draw at the age of 11, winning her first art contest at her elementary school. Later she would go on to win the Wes Sootersberg art contest, through which she earned a scholarship that was applied to her Bachelor of Art in Fine Arts in 2005 at Pacific Lutheran University, however her art career never took off. She would go into the stone industry for 15 years, taking a break to earn her Master of Art in Christian Apologetics from Biola University in 2009.
In 2019, she underwent a devasting divorce and found friendship and love with
her now-husband, Gary Siemers. Together, they have four beautiful children. On
their honeymoon, Lindsay bought her second DSLR camera, which opened the world to Lindsay in ways she had long forgotten. This, coupled with Gary's pushing for her to draw once more, along with a friend who taught her watercolors, brought art back into her life after years of silence.
In early 2021, Lindsay was laid off from her last job in the stone industry due to Covid. This allowed Lindsay to go back to school once more. She earned her Doctorate in Bible Exposition from Liberty
University. During her final months there, she came across the Milan Art
Institute and dove into drawing and painting, through which she learned new
techniques and styles.
She currently plans to publish her dissertation called "Indirect Prophecies Concerning the Death of Christ in Narrative" and to continue studying the Bible while illustrating the spiritual truths held within. Much of Lindsay's artwork is inspired by what she reads in the Bible.
