Beauty in Architecture - Rainy Nights at Stain Peter's

Rainy Nights at Saint Peter’s Basilica captures the beauty and grandeur of this monumental Christian site, being the death place of Peter, one of the three closest disciples to Jesus Christ. He was crucified under the reign of Nero around 64 AD, but he did not feel worthy to die in the manner that his Lord did so he requested to be crucified upside down. Caravaggio commemorates this loving gesture with his depiction of The Crucifixion of Saint Peter held in the Cerasi Chapel in the Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome.
